We're back for Prototyping Tools Part 2! Last time we learned Invision Freehand and this time we'll be learning all about Figma.

Figma is a fully featured interface design tool that runs in your browser. It autosaves your designs in the cloud with version history like google docs, so you never have to worry about manual versioning or losing your work. It allows you to design, prototype, present, get feedback - all in the same tool. Perhaps the most stunning aspect of this tool is live collaboration. You can invite others to jump into a design file with you and collaborate on a design, in real time!

In this workshop, we’ll take a tour of the major features of Figma, and talk about effective workflows. We’ll look at a few third party tools that make working in this environment even better, including some amazing UI libraries. Then we’ll open up Figma and everyone who’s brought their laptop (Windows, Mac, Linux - doesn’t matter because it's browser based) can break into teams and collaborate on making some clickable prototypes. By the end of the session you should have a strong sense of this tool's rich capabilities, how to use them, and where they fit in your own unique workflow.

Figma has a free tier, so if you don’t have a Figma account already, make sure to create one before coming to the workshop.

*Laptops are not required but are strongly encouraged to get the full experience of the workshop.
