Talk #1: The Art of Cooperation and Collaboration by Jamal Cromity, Optum.

Ways to improve UX interaction within cross-functional teams. You will often see in the job description for UX roles, the ability to work within or lead cross-functional teams. For many businesses this is now a common practice. However, it has its challenges and today more than ever, designers need to be able to navigate through the merging ideologies that inherently come with people from different roles working together.

Jamal Cromity

Jamal is an experienced Sr. UX Manager at Optum, a healthcare tech company. With 15 years of UX design expertise and degrees from NCCU and NYIT, he's a certified professional since 2008. Talk #2 :
Beyond the Sum: Maximizing Team Success through Collective Intelligence by Matthew Rogers, WillowTree Apps

Collective intelligence is the ability of a group to solve complex problems beyond the sum of individual abilities. This being said, maximizing collective intelligence doesn’t just mean stacking the team with the smartest or highest-performing people in your roster. It instead depends on deliberate collaboration and communication - emphasizing social sensitivity, diversity, participation, and cohesion across teams, stakeholders, and users.

Matthew Rogers
